Seriously. Leave some hash browns or a pile of broccoli on a plate and try me! 🙂
I’ll have it in a ziploc or a to-go box in a heartbeat! And you’ll see it show up in my eggs the next morning or another meal throughout the week.
I see things. Things I didn’t used to see.
We have to train ourselves to recognize this stuff as it happens in our life. Little bit a broccoli left on a kids plate after supper? I see a serving of veggies for my breakfast.
Leftover steak at the restaurant, even just a handful? I’m taking it. I see protein to mix with eggs for breakfast or to throw on a salad. Hash browns? Let me tell ya’ — I LOVE to mix in a 1/4-1/2 cup of hash browns in steak and eggs in the mornings. It’s one of my Saturday or Sunday morning specialties!
In fact, my husband and I have been known to ORDER an extra meal of chicken fried steak and hash browns while out on the weekend, just so we can chop it all up & scramble with eggs for breakfast!
And doesn’t “food hoarding” like this also make it easier on us?
For just ONE or two meals, we don’t have to think about prepping protein or veggies, and let’s face it, it’s the meat & the veggies that usually trips us up from eating them properly isn’t it?
The next time your out or see extras on your kids’ plates that would make a difference for you later – grab ’em up! You won’t be sorry 🙂
