I’m just finishing up this one. I never knew that I would like historical fiction/romance, but the way this is written–a mix of a historical with a contemporary fiction/romance experience–is incredible. I’ve enjoyed the story so much and have taken my time with it.
This was my first Catherine McKenzie book. I really liked her writing and style. This was the perfect mix of suspense/drama. I’m impressed with the way this Canadian attorney (in real life) has grown her career as an author. I look forward to reading more of her work.
I don’t read short stories or anthologies much at all. This was my first book by female author, Curtis Sittenfeld, and I loved her writing. I’m from the Midwest. When Sittenfeld started mentioning Omaha and places in Kansas/Missouri, I was hooked even more on her writing and style.
This was one of my most favorite books of 2018 so far.
Liz Kay is a new author to me. I think I found her during a search for a women’s article on something or other. Turns out, she lives in Omaha and had written a novel. I friended her on Facebook, sent her a message and bought the hardcover version of her book (I liked this cover better 😉 There’s a lot of language in it, but I don’t mind that and loved the story. Check out the blurb; you might like it, too!
This book by Celeste Ng has been optioned as a TV series by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine. I had a hard time getting through it, but now that I’ve read it, the story has kind of stuck with me. I’m glad I read it; it’s been a HUGE book on the market recently.
